On November 24, the Associated Press reported that President Bush granted pardoned to fourteen individuals, including three convicted of environmental crimes.  The full story is at   http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27895909.

Of those pardoned were Leslie Owen Collier of Charleston, Missouri (convicted for unauthorized use of a pesticide and violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act); Milton Kirk Cordes of Rapid City, South Dakota (convicted of conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act, which prohibits importation into the country of wildlife taken in violation of conservation laws); and Daniel Figh Pue III of Conroe, Texas (convicted of the illegal treatment, storage and disposal of a hazardous waste without a permit).

The presidential power to pardon is set out in the Constitution and is absolute (which means it is not subject to review).
