Armed USEPA Agents – Not Really News

On September 15, 2013, Fox News reported about an “uproar” over armed USEPA agents descending on a tiny Alaska mining town. The USEPA is authorized to have 200 criminal investigators, all authorized to carry firearms.

Fox News also reported that other agencies, such as the Library of Congress and Federal Reserve Board may employ armed officers.

The USEPA used armed agents in full body armor and participated in an Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force investigation which was conducted to look for possible violations of the Clean Water Act.

Not surprisingly, the USEPA denied that the operation was a “raid.”

We will follow this matter to see if any indictments will be forthcoming.
