As those of you who follow this blog know, we covered the trial of John Tuma last spring and reported on his conviction and sentencing in the Western District of Louisiana. Tuma subsequently appealed. Oral argument took place November 4, 2013, before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals before Judges Stewart, DeMoss, and Clement. Amy M. Adelson argued for Tuma; Josette Louise Cassiere argued for the government.
Today, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction and the sentence. Here is a link to the opinion 12-31234-CR0.pdf.
